Explore our frequently asked questions to learn more about our StackSmart palletiser, it’s capabilities, and how we can support your automation needs.
StackSmart is a UK-based automated palletiser, built by LG Motion, that streamlines end-of-line operations.
Our palletisers automatically stack products onto pallets with precision, reducing manual labour, improving safety, and providing consistent throughput for manufacturers, warehouses, and distribution centers.
Business owners typically see improvements in:
Our automated palletisers are trusted across multiple industries, including:
Businesses that use StackSmart typically see full ROI within 12 months thanks to reduced labour costs, increased output, and improved safety compliance.
StackSmart palletisers use Techman Robot robotic arms and OnRobot D:PLOY software to pick, place, and stack products on pallets according to pre-configured patterns.
Products are fed in via production lines and automatically stacked for transport, eliminating the need for manual lifting.
StackSmart designs palletising solutions for SMEs and large-scale operations alike.
Whether you run a small production line or a high-volume distribution centre, we can tailor our system to meet your throughput requirements and budget.
Our systems are built to handle a wide range of products, including:
If your product can be placed on a pallet, we can design a system to handle it. We also provide free proof of concepts to give you peace of mind.
StackSmart palletisers are compatible with all standard pallet types used in the UK and Europe, including UK (1200x1000mm) and Euro (1200x800mm) pallets.
Our automated palletising systems can also be configured to handle custom pallet sizes or specialised formats used in specific industries such as food & beverage, logistics, and manufacturing.
During the design stage, our engineers ensure that your pallet type and product dimensions are perfectly matched to the system layout, gripper type, and stacking pattern for maximum stability and efficiency.
Using OnRobot’s D:PLOY palletising software, StackSmart systems support a wide range of customisable stacking patterns – including column, interlocked, brick, and pinwheel patterns — to suit product size, weight, and pallet configuration.
The intuitive D:PLOY interface allows operators to create, adjust, and save patterns in minutes without coding or complex setup.
This flexibility ensures optimal pallet stability, maximised load density, and safe transport, whether you’re stacking cartons, bags, crates, or mixed products.
Yes. StackSmart palletisers can orient products so labels face outward or in a consistent direction on the finished pallet. Using OnRobot’s D:PLOY software, operators can easily define label orientation within each stacking pattern, ensuring barcodes, branding, or handling instructions remain visible for logistics, scanning, or presentation.
StackSmart palletising systems are available in a range of standard and bespoke configurations to suit your production line layout and available space. Each setup is optimised for efficient product flow, pallet access, and operator safety. Conveyor speeds and robot cycle times can be adjusted within OnRobot’s D:PLOY software to deliver smooth, consistent palletising across any configuration.
Absolutely. Our engineers design palletisers to seamlessly integrate with your existing equipment, whether you already have conveyors, wrapping machines, or warehouse management software.
Space requirements vary based on product size, pallet patterns, and automation level. StackSmart provides an on-site assessment to recommend the most efficient footprint for your facility. The typical footprint for a StackSmart palletiser with protective guarding is 9.6 m2.
From design to commissioning, most projects are completed within 6–10 weeks, depending on complexity; however, on-site installs are completed within a day per palletising system.
Our team works closely with your production schedule to minimise downtime.
No. StackSmart palletisers feature a multi-lingual touchscreen interface paired with OnRobot’s intuitive D:PLOY software, which makes the whole system user-friendly and quick to learn. Our team provides full operator training to ensure a smooth transition.
Yes. StackSmart offers full maintenance packages, on-site training, and rapid-response support to keep your palletiser running with minimal downtime. The Techman robot comes with a 24-month warranty, and the OnRobot gripper/other parts have a 36-month warranty, giving you peace of mind.
Every StackSmart palletiser is fully compliant with UKCA and CE standards. Safety features include a light curtain behind the front control unit, emergency stop buttons located on the palletiser body and control unit, and an isolator switch also located on the control unit.
